Why critics of Anna Hazare are WRONG

Anna’s movement against corruption is widely known to all of us. His team has prepared a very stringent bill and pressurizing government to pass it. The idea behind having a very strict bill is to propagate terror in people who pursue corruption. Of course objective of his movement is what common people of India like us subscribe to and extend our full support. Though Mass gathering at Ram Lila Maidan is enough of proof but the protest is also being supported across nation in one form or the other.

Looking at the tremendously vast acceptance and support of Anna some, in circles of political prowess, are putting up a politically correct perception which does not appreciate the Anna’s way of going about it. They are labeling it as authoritarian and undemocratic. Some are also stating that Anna’s way of going about corruption is not the best one as better alternates are also available to resolve the issue of corruption.

Opinions about Anna’s way being authoritarian and undemocratic are completely wrong and should be criticized to maximum extent possible. Anna identified the problem of corruption, which is known to every one. We don’t have to be super intelligent to identify the problem of corruption and its ill effect on our country and citizens. Anna stood and put his best foot forward to eliminate the corruption. He is leading the movement and use of authoritarian is wrong and must be summarily rejected.

‘The method is undemocratic’ is argument which supposedly proponents of democracy are ranting. As Anna is not an elected one, he must not impose his stringent bill on the elected ones. It is prerogative of elected ones. Of course it is politically correct. And there must not be any threat to the largest democracy of the world. But Anna’s way is not undemocratic. All he is giving his inputs to make a very stringent law against corruption. Why should ‘We the People’ should settle for any compromised bill. Will not a compromised bill will harm the democracy of the country in long run just the way absence of Lokpal has done down these years? Yes we must get a stringent bill and subsequent law against corruption and the corrupt. And Anna’s method may not be the conventional but it is just right. Conventional methods were there in place for last 60 years. Did not yield any result against corruption. Also they could not stop black money generation and subsequent inconvenience to public. They need reinforcement. Those people who are actually not appreciating Anna must be happy as he is helping you and the system you are used to curb the evil corruption.
